What is boondocking? Boondocking is RV camping for free on public land outside of a designated campground such as in the National Forest.
I adventured to a new boondocking camping spot in my Little Guy Max trailer. It was a secluded location with spectacular waterfront Lake Superior views. I couldn’t believe how gorgeous it was here.
But the road was sandy and soft so we were worried about getting stuck plus it was a real struggle to find a place to turn around while towing our camper trailer.
My important RV boondocking tips (AKA dry camping) for both beginners and seasoned boondockers is to make sure there is ample space for you to maneuver your travel trailer so you can exit before you get to your camping location.
